VOV.VN - Nam Dinh FC made a strong start in the AFC Champions League Two, defeating Thailand’s Ratchaburi FC 3-1 at Thien Truong Stadium in northern Ninh Binh province on September 17.
The V-League champions fielded 10 foreign-born players, with midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh the only local starter. Midfielder Caio Cesar opened the scoring in the 35th minute, before Percy Tau set up Marlos Brenner to double the lead early in the second half. Brenner struck again five minutes later with a close-range header to make it 3-0.
Ratchaburi pulled one back in the 60th minute through Tana, but could not change the outcome.
With the win, Nam Dinh joined Japan’s Gamba Osaka at the top of Group F. Gamba Osaka also won 3-1 against Eastern (Hong Kong, China).
