VOV.VN - Vietnam’s wrestling team will have four athletes competing at the third Asian Youth Games (AYG) 2025 in Bahrain from October 22 to 31.
The tournament will serve as a qualifier for the 2026 Youth Olympic Games set to be held in Senegal.
All four athletes won medals at the Asian Beach Wrestling Championship 2025 hosted in Vietnam in June. Gold medalists include Lam Minh Gia Huy (men’s 60kg), Pham Huynh Minh Hieu (men’s 90kg), and Dinh Kieu Trang (women’s 45kg), while Bui Ngoc Thao Thom (women’s 55kg) took silver.
Ta Dinh Duc, General Secretary of the Vietnam Wrestling Federation, said the athletes recently competed in the U17 & U20 Beach Wrestling World Championships in Greece from September 23-27, which helped them refine their skills ahead of the AYG.
