First gold medals for Vietnam at Southeast Asia Shooting Championship 2025

VOV.VN - Vietnamese marksmen secured their first four gold medals at the 47th Southeast Asia Shooting Championship 2025, which kicked off in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 9.

In the 10m air pistol mixed team junior, the men’s trio Le Tuan Anh, Le Duy Vuong and Le Tuan Minh scored 1,696 points, edging out the host team from Thailand to take the top podium spot.

Similarly, Vietnamese women’s team including Nguyen Thuy Trang, Tran Thi Xuan Huong and Tran Yen Nhi also triumphed in their category, collecting gold with a score of 1,676 points, ahead of strong competitors from Thailand and Singapore.

For individual events, Nguyen Thuy Trang finished first with 237.5 points in the women's 10m air pistol.

In the men's 10m air pistol competition, shooter Le Tuan Anh took one gold medal after scoring 228.5 points, marking a milestone in his career for his first participation in the regional tournament.

Running until October 15, the 47th Southeast Asia Shooting Championship has attracted hundreds of athletes from the region, including 44 Vietnamese. The tournament is also seen as a warm-up event for marksmen ahead of the 33rd SEA Games to be held in Thailand later this year.
