VOV.VN - The Vietnamese pencak silat team won three gold, three silver, and four bronze medals to place second overall at the 2025 Southeast Asian Pencak Silat Championships, which wrapped up in Thailand on October 14.
The golds went to Nguyen Duc Hau (men’s 45kg), Nguyen Chinh Nghia (men’s 60kg), and Vo Thanh Hieu (men’s 65kg).
Vo Thien Hai and Cao Van Quy finished runners-up in the men’s 80kg and 90kg categories, respectively, while Nguyen Thi My Dung earned a silver in the women’s singles Tunggal event.
Bronze medals were secured by Nguyen Thi Diem Quynh (women’s 55kg), Nguyen Thi Hao (women’s 60kg), Huynh Tan Tai (men’s 70kg), and Dinh Tien Cuu (men’s 75kg). Thailand topped the medal table with five golds, while Malaysia finished third.
Vietnam sent 14 athletes to the tournament, which served as a test event for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) scheduled for later this year.
