VOV.VN - 25-year-old Vietnamese shuttler Nguyen Hai Dang has achieved the highest ranking of his career, climbing three places from 55th to 52nd in the world with a total of 28,290 points, according to the latest world rankings released on October 28 by the Badminton World Federation (BWF).
The improvement shows his active participation in international tournaments and the strong results he has delivered recently.
At the Indonesia Masters II, part of the BWF World Tour Super 100, Nguyen Hai Dang reached the men’s singles semifinals, earning 3,850 ranking points and US$1,595 (around VND40 million). This performance stands out as one of his most notable international achievements to date.
With the goal of climbing higher in the rankings and preparing for SEA Games 33 in Thailand this December, Nguyen Hai Dang will continue to compete in international events. From November 4 to 9, he is scheduled to participate in the 2025 Korea Masters, part of the BWF World Tour Super 300.
His current ranking allows him direct entry into the main draw in men’s singles, where he is expected to deliver strong performances.
On the same BWF ranking update, Vietnam’s top female badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh is ranked 22nd in women’s singles. She will also compete at the Korea Masters alongside Nguyen Hai Dang. With her world ranking, she is expected to be among the top seeds in the women’s singles draw.
