VOV.VN - Referee Ko Hyung Jin of the Republic of Korea (RoK) is set to take charge of the upcoming fixture between Vietnam’s U23 side and Iraq’s U23s in the quarter-final round of the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup, with the fixture set to take place on April 27.
According to details given by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Jin will be assisted by Bang Gi Yeol of the RoK and Alrefaei Hesham Mohammed of Saudi Arabia.
The fourth official will be Majed Mohammed Alshamrani of Saudi Arabia, while Ahmed Eisa Mohamed Darwish of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will serve as the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
All of the match officials are familiar faces to Vietnamese football fans as they have officiated several matches involving Vietnam and other foreign rivals in recent tournaments.
Previously, Jin took charge of the clash between Vietnam and Thailand in the first leg of the final of the 2022 AFF Cup.
The Korean official was also in charge of Vietnam’s 4-0 defeat against Australia in the third qualifying round of the Asian region for the 2022 World Cup. He also refereed a clash between Nam Dinh and Sai Gon FCs during the 2022 V.League 1 season.
