VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City Women’s FC will once again play host to a group stage of the 2025-2026 AFC Women’s Champions League, scheduled for November.
The reigning Vietnamese champions will also represent the country in the tournament. Last season, the club advanced to the semi-finals, earning Vietnam a place in Pot 2 ahead of the group-stage draw set for September 11.
The second edition of the competition will feature 12 teams divided into three groups. Matches will be staged across three venues: Myanmar (November 9-15), Vietnam (November 13-19), and China (November 17-23).
Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City has been selected as the Vietnamese venue, hosting matches between HCM City Women’s FC, defending champions Wuhan Jiangda of China, and ISPE Women’s FC of Myanmar.
In the inaugural season, HCM City Women’s FC also hosted the group stage, defeating Odisha FC of India and Taichung Blue Whale of Chinese Taipei to reach the quarter-finals. However, they fell to Wuhan Jiangda in the semi-finals.
Their performance in the 2024-2025 campaign helped Vietnam secure fifth place in the AFC women’s club rankings.
