Vietnam’s U22s to play friendlies against RoK and China in March
VOV.VN - The Vietnam national U22 football team will play friendly matches abroad in the Chinese Football Association (CFA) Team China 2025 tournament in March as part of their preparations for upcoming international events.
They are scheduled to encounter the Republic of Korea (RoK), Uzbekistan, and China on March 20, March 23, and March 25, respectively.
The U22 players will take part in their first gathering in March. Apart from outstanding faces from the 2024 ASEAN Cup such as Khuat Van Khang and Bui Vi Hao, Korean coach Kim Sang-sik will call up a large squad in order to select the best athletes on the final list for the friendly tournament.
After a two-week training camp, the Vietnamese players will leave for China to compete in the tournament in Jiangsu.
The tournament is expected to help the local footballers hone in skills ahead of the 2026 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Asian Cup qualifiers in September and the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) in December this year.
