Vietnam to face Thai club in friendlies ahead of 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup

VOV.VN - The Vietnam national beach soccer team will play three friendly matches against Imane Beach Soccer Club, one of Thailand's top teams, during their training camp in Da Nang as they prepare for the 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup.
The matches are scheduled for March 8, 10, and 12 on Pham Van Dong Beach in Da Nang. These games are part of the team’s training program, which runs from February 25 to March 18.
The national squad includes several key players from Da Nang FC, the reigning champions of the Vietnam National Beach Soccer Championship. A total of 20 players have been called up, with standout names such as Tran Kim Trung, top scorer of the 2024 National Championship, and Tran Ngoc Bao, the tournament’s best player. The roster will be trimmed to 12 players before the team departs for the continental competition.
The 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup will take place from March 20 to 30 at Jomtien Beach Soccer Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.
This year’s tournament features 16 teams divided into four groups. Vietnam have been drawn into Group D alongside Oman, Bahrain, and Malaysia. It is a tough group, as Oman and Bahrain rank among Asia’s strongest beach soccer teams, while Malaysia have twice reached the quarterfinals in the last four editions.
The group stage will follow a single round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. The three best-performing teams of the tournament will earn a spot at the 2025 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in May.
