VOV.VN - Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam has paid a state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) where he also attended a grand ceremony marking 80 years of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

General Secretary Kim Jong-un hosts a welcoming ceremony for General Secretary To Lam in Pyongyang. Notably, the DPRK military fires a 21-gun salute to welcome the Vietnamese leader.
During their later talks, General Secretary To Lam affirms that Vietnam is ready to share its experience in socio-economic reform and expand cooperation in potential areas with the DPRK. In response, General Secretary Kim Jong-un emphasised that the DPRK wishes to work closely with Vietnam in Party building and national development and is prepared to promote collaboration across multiple suitable fields.

General Secretary To Lam then visits Kieng Sang Kindergarten and the classroom named after President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam. The kindergarten is known as a renowned centre for nurturing young artistic talents. It has also established a friendship relationship with the Vietnam–DPRK Friendship Kindergarten in Hanoi, symbolising the Vietnam–DPRK friendship.
While staying in Pyongyang, General Secretary To Lam meets with Chinese Premier Li Qiang. General Secretary To Lam suggests that both sides early complete the three standard-gauge railway lines connecting the two countries, expand import-export of goods, and strengthen high-quality investment cooperation. Meeting with officials and staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Pyongyang on October 10, General Secretary To Lam recalls the long-standing bond between the two countries and affirms that Vietnam will never forget the DPRK’s support and contributions during Vietnam’s difficult times. He emphasises Vietnam’s commitment to contributing to peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, in the region, and globally. He also attends the inauguration ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh statue within the premises of the Vietnamese Embassy in the DPRK.
