Elsewhere, second position went to the complex of the “Dien Bien Phu” battlefield relics. “In 2024, the concept of history and war-themed tourism gained widespread popularity among the public. With the 70th year anniversary parade celebrating Dien Bien Phu victory, the relic site joined the top trending domestic travel destinations,” it stressed.

Other sites to make the Top 10 of the domestic travel category for 2024 were Phu Yen, Ninh Binh, Hoi An, Hue, Sa Pa, Phu Quoc, Da Lat and Hanoi.

More prominently, the official opening of Vietnam Military History Museum in November attracted plenty of interest from both local and international visitors. Compared to 2023, searches for the museum surged by 792%, making it one of the most searched places in the travel category.

Furthermore, other keywords such as “cheap air tickets” or “Mang Den” were also searched a lot on Coc Coc, thus reflecting the travel demand of Vietnamese people over the past year, especially amid an increase in air ticket prices.

Regarding international travel, Bali of Indonesia, the United States, and Thailand were all among the most searched destinations.
