Michelin reveals Top 9 must-visit noodle restaurants in Hanoi
VOV.VN - Michelin Guide, the world's leading culinary guide for tourists and Vietnamese food enthusiasts, has suggested its Top 9 famous noodle and phở restaurants in Hanoi for diners at wallet-friendly prices.
Phở Gia Truyền
The culinary guide recommends Phở Gia Truyền, located on Bat Dan street, which has numerous hearty options such as phở tái nạm (slices of flank steak), phở tái (round steak) and phở chín (brisket). Visitors should add crispy quẩy (fried dough sticks) and order trứng gà (golden egg yolk) for the ultimate hunger obliterating meal.
Miến Lươn Đông Thịnh
According to Michelin, in this 40-plus-year-old shop located on Hang Dieu street, the menu revolves around eel with dishes including eel noodles, eel congee, and eel soup.
For the noodles, it stressed that they use rice vermicelli which is made into noodle soup or tossed with deep-fried shredded eel, herbs, toasted peanuts, and shallots.
Phở Khôi Hói
Situated on Hang Vai street of Hoan Kiem district, Phở Khôi Hói is always bustling with visitors because of its traditional phở flavou that has been famous for more than 30 years. The special thing about the restaurant is that the beef is stir-fried, fragrant, and then used with phở, making the broth typically rich.
Tuyết Bún Chả 34
Tuyết Bún Chả 34, located on Hang Than street, attracts diners because of the quality of the grilled pork on offer. The pork is grilled next to the restaurant, with the flavour being rich and the eatery boasting a characteristic smoky smell.
The dipping sauce here is also commented to be "flavourful" thanks to its traditional recipe, sweet, lightly spicy, and fragrant with minced garlic, along with many stir-fries to eat with it.
Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư
Phở 10 Lý Quốc Sư offers 10 phở options, ranging from classic brisket to flank beef and beef fillet, each brimming full of flavour. The compact kitchen, visible through a glazed partition, is run by a skilled team that serves up hearty, refreshing bowls of phở.
“Our Inspectors say that with tender beef that melts in your mouth, it’s a satisfying dish that always hits the spot,” it noted.
Bún Chả Chan
Located on Mai Hac De street, the small Bún Chả shop has served loyal customers for over a decade. Alongside the classic caramelised pork meatballs with rice vermicelli, diners can opt for grilled pork belly or minced beef wrapped in betel leaf, all paired with a tangy, sweet broth.
Phở Gà Nguyệt
The chicken noodle dishes at Phở Gà Nguyệt on Phu Doan street, offer a selection of cuts, but the tender thigh, which is perfect in both soup and dry noodle variations, is a clear favourite.
“You can mix and match thigh with wings, or wings with breast, adding condiments to suit your taste. It is also a great spot for an after-hour meal,” says Michelin Guide.
Bún Cha Ta
Bún Cha Ta is a popular spot for tourists on Nguyen Huu Huan street, featuring smoky grilled pork, tender meat patties, and smooth rice noodles in a well-balanced broth.
“According to our esteemed professional food tasters, the fried spring rolls are a highlight, with the seafood crab variety delivering rich umami, while the chicken rolls are savoury and hearty. For vegetarians, there are rice noodles with fried tofu and tomato sauce, alongside crispy spring rolls,” it suggested.
Phở Bò Ấu Triệu
Hidden near Saint Joseph Cathedral in Hanoi, the shop has one defining feature: its unique beef phở.
“It’s a bold choice, but one that makes perfect sense given how good the minced beef noodles are. Served in a rich, deeply flavoured beef bone stock—cooked for 10 hours—it’s complemented by tender beef flank and tendon, a dish that speaks for itself,” Michelin concluded.
