The tournament will feature blitz chess competition across 12 groups, categorised by age and gender ranging from U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, to Open.

Many national top players will vie for medals, including grandmasters Nguyen Ngoc Truong Son and Le Tuan Minh in the men's events, and grandmasters Pham Le Thao Nguyen, Vo Thi Kim Phung, and Luong Phuong Hanh in the women's event.

Le Quang Liem, world No 16 and former world blitz champion who has the highest Elo of 2739 of Vietnam, will fly home from the United States specifically to take part in the competition.

Foreign players from countries such as France and the Philippines have also registered to compete in the Open category.

The tournament, to be jointly organised by the HCM City Chess Federation and KPNest Joint Stock Company, provides an opportunity for athletes to show off their talents and for local chess fans to enjoy international games.
