The occasion is jointly organised by the football association of Vietnamese people in Japan (FAVIJA) and is being sponsored by the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan.

It will feature a total of 32 teams selected from seven football tournaments across Japan held from February to late November.

The winner will receive a ball with the signature of Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong.

The football tourney is to take place as part of culture-sports exchange activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan which were first established in 1973.
