A VFF representative said the Vietnam Football Federation (LĐBĐVN) had earlier  invited Lebanon and India to participate in friendly matches with Vietnam during the FIFA Days in October 2024.

However, due to difficulties in finding flights to Vietnam, the Lebanon national team will not be able to attend the tournament. The Lebanese Football Association has also sent a letter to the VFF apologizing for missing this opportunity and hopes to play n Vietnam during future FIFA Days.

In light of the limited time available to find another team to play, the Vietnam Football Federation and the All Indian Football Federation have agreed to organize a friendly match between Vietnam and India at 6:00p.m. on October 12, 2024, at Thien Truong Stadium in Nam Dinh province.

Currently, the VFF is making necessary preparations for the match, said the VFF representative.

The India national team are scheduled to fly to Vietnam on October 7 and they will have two training sessions before the match against their hosts Vietnam. The head coach of the Indian team, Manolo Marquez, noted that the delay would give his players more time to prepare for the match.

To get ready for this encounter, 27 Vietnamese players are set to gather on October 5 for training. Coach Kim Sang-sik is expected to call up some prominent players such as defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh, midfielders Le Pham Thanh Long, To Van Vu, Chau Ngoc Quang, and veteran striker Nguyen Van Quyet.
