VOV.VN - Phu Quoc Island of southern Kien Giang province has been listed among the Top 10 Destinations of the Year 2026, as compiled by Expedia, one of the world’s leading online travel platforms.
According to the ranking, Phu Quoc placed fourth, recording a 53% surge in travel searches.
Expedia described Phu Quoc as an ideal getaway for travelers seeking relaxation, noting its natural charm, golden sandy beaches, breathtaking sunsets, and pristine islets perfect for snorkeling and diving.
The platform suggested that visitors explore Long Beach, known for its 20-kilometer stretch of golden sand and turquoise waters; An Thoi, famed for its fish sauce factories; and Phu Quoc National Park, where they can go hiking, kayaking, and studying local ecosystems.
Holidaymakers can also enjoy a variety of entertainment experiences, from riding the world’s longest three-wire cable car to visiting the iconic Kiss Bridge or watching the multimedia show “Kiss of the Sea,” a Guinness World Record holder.
In addition, Phu Quoc is upgrading its infrastructure, with plans to expand and modernize its international airport to boost socio-economic and tourism development, while ensuring smooth transport for the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
Rounding out Expedia’s Top 10 Destinations of the Year are Big Sky, Montana (the US); Okinawa (Japan); Sardinia (Italy); Savoie (France); Fort Walton Beach, Florida (the US); Ucluelet (Canada); the Cotswolds (the UK); San Miguel de Allende (Mexico); and Hobart (Australia).
