This visit comes less than a year after Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam’s State visit to China in August 2024. It also marks Xi Jinping’s fourth visit to Vietnam as China’s top leader, and the second visit during his current term-the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
During the two-day state visit to Vietnam, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping will have important talks and meetings with Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man.
The top Chinese leader and his entourage are welcomed at the airport with drum and ethnic dance performances by Vietnamese artists.
The Chinese delegation receives a warm welcome from local Vietnamese, Chinese nationals in Vietnam, and staff of the Chinese Embassy.
