Central localities ramp up efforts to brace for upcoming storm

VOV.VN - Local authorities of central localities, including Da Nang, have deployed response measures ahead of the arrival tropical storm Trami, which is expected to make landfall on the night of October 26.
Local authorities in Da Nang have been ordered to immediately implement safety measures for vessels and maritime activities, whilst also keeping boats in the harbour and advising those still at sea to find safe shelter.
At Tho Quang port in Da Nang, fishermen are busy hiring cranes in an effort to bring their boats ashore.
Thousands of fishing vessels operating at sea have been urgently notified to ensure that they avoid dangerous areas and seek safe shelter from the incoming storm.
Soldiers help the fishermen to move their boats and equipment to safe areas.
All of the fishing boats are eventually moved to safety in Da Nang. Local authorities also move many households from areas at high risk of flooding to safer locations.
The central region braces itself to face the adverse weather phenomena over the coming days. It is forecast to suffer from widespread downpours from October 27 to October 28 due to tropical storm Trami’s impact.
Local authorities have advised boat owners and crew members to stay updated on weather conditions, avoid going to high-risk areas, and to return to shore immediately when requested.
