According to the results, U23 Vietnam will play U23 Saudi Arabia, U23 Iran and U23 Mongolia in Group B, with both Saudi Arabia and Iran considered powerhouses in West Asia.  

Similarly, another Southeast Asian representative, U23 Thailand, will play in Group E of strong competitors such as U23 Korea, U23 Kuwait and U23 Bahrain. Meanwhile, U23 Indonesia will play in Group F alongside U23 Pakistan, U23 Taipei (China) and U23 Kyrgyzstan

The last Southeast Asian representative, Myanmar, will take on U23 China, U23 India and U23 Bangladesh.

A total of 23 teams have been divided into six groups to play in a round robin format. Six groups winners plus six second placed teams and four nest third-placed teams will cruise to the knock-out stage.

Meanwhile, the official draw of women’s football sent Vietnam into Group D together with Nepal, Bangladesh and Japan. The group is considered to be suitable for coach Mai Duc Chung in an attempt to become one of the three best runner-up teams to enter the knock-out round.

Football matches will be held from September 19 to October 7 at 15 stadiums in Hangzhou city.
