At the Singapore Open event, which was held at the same time, masters from China dominated the competition.

China have been the leading nation in the Asian championships since its inauguration back in 1980, except in 2011 when Vietnamese Nguyen Hoang Lam and Ngo Huong Lan triumphed in the men's and women's individual disciplines, respectively.
