VOV.VN - A mass military parade took place in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30, marking the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. Let’s have a look at some of the images of the parade.
Su-30MK2 and Yak-130 fighter jets, taking off from Bien Hoa Airbase, tear through the air as they soar into the sky.
Meanwhile, 10 helicopters fly over the sky of the city, followed shortly after by the Yak and Su squadrons to cheers from the crowds below.
They fly with the national flag and the Party flag fluttering proudly in the wind, stirring deep emotions and pride among thousands of spectators.
Even more thrilling are the deafening roars of the Su-30MK2 and Yak-130 fighters. The jets streak across the deep blue sky. After a series of dazzling maneuvers, the pilots wow the crowd with a brilliant flare drop, a visually stunning display of aerial defence.
All the fighter jets manoeuvre and release decoy flares with a high degree of precision and professional skills.
Technically, flares are a core component of electronic defence systems. Some missiles don’t rely on radar but instead lock onto the heat signature emitted by aircraft engines. To counter this threat, when a missile alert is triggered, pilots deploy special flares (countermeasure rounds) to divert the missile’s path. This tactic allows the aircraft to evade and ensure safety.
