V.League rises into Top 3 most valuable leagues in Southeast Asia

VOV.VN - As the 2025-2026 football season kicks off, the Vietnam National Professional Football Championship – Division 1 (V.League 1) has surpassed Malaysia Super League to break into the top three most valuable leagues in Southeast Asia, according to renowned German football site Transfermarkt.
Thai League 1 remains the region’s most valuable competition with a total market value of EUR76.84 million, followed by Indonesia Super League at EUR71.54 million and V-League at EUR53.74 million.
Elsewhere, Malaysia Super League and Singapore Premier League finish fourth and fifth with their respective market values of EUR51.09 million and EUR19.01 million.
Other leagues such as Myanmar National League, Cambodian League, and Lao League also recorded strong growth ahead of the new season.
In recent years, V.League has often been rated lower than its neighbouring competitions in terms of attraction of quality foreign players and overall market value. However, the 2025-26 season has marked a significant shift.
A number of domestic clubs have boldly recruited foreign players acquiring experience in Europe or South America, thereby substantially boosting their squad values.
Notably, Nam Dinh FC secured several high-profile signings, including goalkeeper Caique valued at EUR800,000), South African midfielder Njabulo Blom at EUR950,000, and especially striker Percy Tau, a former Premier League player, currently valued at EUR1 million.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Police FC successfully signed defender Matheus Felipe, also valued at EUR1 million.
Transfermarkt named Nam Dinh FC among the top 10 most valuable clubs in the AFC Champions League Two 2025-2026. The team has a total value of EUR9.21 million, ranking 9th on the list, alongside famous teams in the continent such as Al-Nassr, Al-Wasl, Gamba Osaka or Pohang Steelers.
