VOV.VN - Vietnam has ranked seventh globally for tourism-related search volume, which has increased by between 10% and 25% since the beginning of the year, according to Google Destination Insights.

The Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT) attributes this growth to recent visa policy reforms, a diverse range of high-quality tourism offerings, and the expansion of international flight routes.

Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country in the global Top 10, outperforming regional peers such as the Philippines (18th), Singapore (25th), Thailand (36th), Indonesia (37th), and Malaysia (39th).

Among domestic destinations, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang, Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Hoi An drew the highest levels of international search interest. Vung Tau and Ninh Binh posted the most significant growth, each recording an increase of over 75%.

Top sources of online searches for Vietnam included tourists from the US, India, Australia, Japan, Singapore, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, Taiwan (China), Malaysia, and Hong Kong (China).

Vietnam's appeal to global travelers is underpinned by its varied tourism products, developed infrastructure, and strong reputation for safety and security, according to VNAT.

In April alone, Vietnam welcomed 7.67 million foreign arrivals, up 23.8% year-on-year. Looking ahead, the country aims to attract between 22 million and 23 million international visitors in 2025, contributing roughly 6% to 8% of the national GDP.
