Vietnam unveiled its national tourism data platform “Visit Vietnam” in the northern province of Quang Ninh on August 15, a strategic move to design an integrated tourism database for destination information, reviews, and travel service bookings.
The ecosystem was launched by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), National Data Association (NDA) and Sun Group at the conference on tourism data in digital economic development.
Major Dao Duc Trieu, NDA Secretary General, described the launch as a milestone in building a public–private tourism data ecosystem, which connects data from multiple sources and serves state management, business development, and enhancing visitor experiences.
A highlight of Visit Vietnam is its integration of cutting-edge technologies, featuring an AI Travel Assistant capable of automated trip planning and service bookings for users. Meanwhile, NDAchain.vn platform provides decentralised authentication, ensuring information reliability and transparency. Multiple services, from transport, accommodation, dining, to nationwide loyalty programmes, are integrated into the ecosystem. Additionally, blockchain technology and tokenisation security protocols will verify and protect all data on the platform.
Visit Vietnam is to support tourists with service searches, bookings, and local culture exploration while enabling businesses to capture market trends and design personalised products and helping Government agencies formulate data-driven policies, he said.
The development roadmap is scheduled to begin in October with the launch of the national data platform and the debut of the National Tourism Dashboard version 1.0 for government use. In the second quarter of 2026, the platform will go public, focusing on building trust and providing trip planning tools.
The 2027 APEC Summit and related summits will mark Visit Vietnam’s debut on the global stage, with direct booking systems, AI-powered itinerary suggestions, and a Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) model for businesses. After 2027, Visit Vietnam is to become a comprehensive super app for tourism, allowing one-touch ticket booking and multimedia integration.
VNAT Director Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the sector has been recognised as a bright spot in Vietnam’s socio-economic landscape in 2025, eyeing 25 million international visitors and 150 million domestic tourists for the whole year.
He underscored that digital technology and a clean, live, sufficient, and unified national tourism data ecosystem will be key to driving breakthroughs, sustaining high growth, ensuring effective management, and improving tourism service quality.
At the event, representatives from the VNAT, NDA, and strategic partners Sun Group, Visa, Mastercard, and Trip.com signed a Memorandum of Understanding on developing the national tourism platform. Under the agreement, the NDA will set policy and legal frameworks and certify the project, Sun Group will develop and operate the technology, and the tourism authority will be in charge of promoting the initiative through national channels and engaging the business community.
The launch of Visit Vietnam is seen as a significant leap in tourism digitalisation, enhancing Vietnam’s competitiveness, strengthening international connectivity, and paving the way for sustainable development.
