VOV.VN - Vietnamese fighters are targeting at least three gold medals across various categories at the second Asian Jujitsu Youth Championship 2025, due to get underway in Thailand from February 12 to 16.

Vietnam is sending a strong team of 61 male and female athletes, representing various age groups and weight categories. Among them, Ho Chi Minh City contributes several standout competitors, such as Ha Thi Nhung, San Thi Lieu, Luc Ly Hoai Xuan, and Nguyen Dinh Huy.

“This is a key tournament for young athletes, featuring highly skilled competitors in age and weight divisions from across Asia. While our main goal is to gain valuable experience, we are also aiming for the best possible results,” said Tran Van Thach, head of the Vietnam Sports Administration's Jujitsu Department.

Based on the team’s preparations, Thach said, several athletes are considered medal contenders in their respective weight classes and events. They include 2024 gold medalist Ha Thi Nhung, San Thi Lieu, Hoang Ngoc Han, Nguyen Thuy Duyen, and Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong.

In last year’s competition, Vietnam finished second overall, securing an impressive tally of 14 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Other top-performing teams included Kazakhstan, the UAE, Thailand, the Republic of Korea, and Uzbekistan.
