VietJet launches first direct flight, bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa

Cập nhật: 7 giờ trước

VOV.VN - Budget airline VietJet Air launched its first direct flight from Vladivostok, Russia, to Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam, on June 15.

The inaugural flight, carrying 220 passengers, landed at Cam Ranh International Airport in Nha Trang, where passengers were warmly welcomed with flowers and gifts provided by Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Co. Ltd. and Cam Ranh International Terminal Jsc.

Starting June 15, VietJet Air, in partnership with Anex Vietnam, will operate six weekly flights from three major Russian cities - Vladivostok, Blagoveshchensk, and Khabarovsk - to Cam Ranh. This marks a significant expansion in direct air connectivity between Russia and central Vietnam.

Currently, six airlines serve the Russia–Cam Ranh route, namely Azur Air, Aeroflot, Ir Aero Airlines, Ikar Airlines, Red Wings, and VietJet Air, with a combined frequency of over 20 flights per week.

The restoration and addition of direct flights have contributed to a noticeable rise in Russian tourist arrivals. In the first five months of the year, Vietnam welcomed over 210,000 Russian visitors, with approximately 100,000 of them traveling to Khanh Hoa alone. This surge not only boosts tourism in the region but also helps diversify its international tourism markets.
