VOV.VN - As many as 45 models donning 50 traditional Vietnamese outfits (Ao Dai) have participated in a fashion show in the Hanoi's Old Quarter as part of activities to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005-2025).
A series of cultural activities to mark the 20th anniversary of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day bring festive atmosphere to Hanoi's Old Quarter, while honouring traditional crafts, artistic heritage and long-standing cultural values.
The highlight of the event is an Ao Dai fashion show of designer David Minh Duc at the relic site No. 40 Lan Ong Street, Hoan Kiem ward.
The collection consists of 50 Ao Dai designs, featuring the development of traditional outfits through various periods in history.
The outfits with hand-embroidered patterns, traditional colours, and tailoring techniques help fashion lovers understand more about Vietnamese cultural identity.
The collection is performed by 45 models including beauty queens and celebrities.
During his 30-year career, David Minh Duc not only designs Ao Dai but also spends much time researching the history of Vietnamese costumes, contributing to spreading the image of Ao Dai to the world.

In addition to the fashion show, the organisers hold a series of activities including an exhibition on physician Hai Thuong Lan Ong and traditional medicine at the relic site at No. 40 Lan Ong Street, a heritage music programme at Kim Ngan Communal House, a workshop on Thanh Lieu woodblocks and making handicrafts from silk, wood, and Do (Poonah) paper.
Each activity contributes to reviving the crafts in the Old Quarter and brings the heritage closer to the public.
