VOV.VN - As many as 50,000 spectators on August 10 attended the political–artistic programme entitled ‘To Quoc Trong Tim’ (Homeland in Our Hearts) at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi, celebrating 80 years of National Day.
The event, jointly organised by Nhan Dan Newspaper and the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee, marks the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 –2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 –2025).
The stage is designed with four sections carrying the message “Independence – Freedom – Happiness – Red Flag with Yellow Star” and shaped into a giant “V” reaching 26 meters in height - a symbol of national pride.
Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, deputy head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilisation, and chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, delivers a speech at the event.
The highlight of the programme is a performance by 68 cadets from the Army Officer College No. 1, reenacting the Vietnamese military parade at Red Square (Moscow, Russia) in May.
Every movement, every step and every gesture of each formation is executed by the soldiers with precision and perfect synchronisation.
For them, it was not just a performance, but also a testament to the bravery, determination, and steely spirit of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The image of Vietnamese soldiers, knownas Uncle Ho’s soldiers, walking amid the warm embrace of the Vietnamese people at My Dinh National Stadium.
State-of-the-art sound, lighting, and massive LED screens not only supported the performances but acted as a “storyteller” guiding the emotional journey.
As the National Anthem plays, the stadium lights dim, unveiling a brilliant display of red and yellow.
All 50,000 attendees at the stadium solemnly rise to their feet and join their voices in unison.
The proud voices singing the national anthem merge with the heartbeat of tens of thousands, bringing many to tears.
Ngoc Lan, a Cau Giay ward resident, says that standing amid a sea of people and singing the national anthem together makes her feel the pride of being Vietnamese more deeply than ever.
Tung Anh, from the northern city of Hai Phong, shares that although he has attended many major events, he has never witnessed such a powerful blend of art and patriotism.
Everyone is deeply moved as the giant stage screen recreates the moment President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi on September 2, 1945, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The stage screen also showcases Vietnam’s outstanding achievements in national construction and defence as well as in international integration.
“The Homeland in Our Hearts” brings together a number of Vietnamese veteran artists and leading young performers, including People’s Artist Thu Huyen, Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, singers Tung Duong, Vo Ha Tram, Noo Phuoc Thinh, Ha Le, Thanh Duy, Suboi, and the boyband Oplus.
In addition, the programme also features several prominent athletes such as Quang Hai, Anh Vien, Le Van Cong, along with many other sports figures who have brought glory to Vietnam on the international stage.
The programme concludes with an eight-minute display of artistic fireworks at the F1 racetrack.
Set against a backdrop of majestic music, the brilliant fireworks illuminate the Hanoi sky, providing a fitting and emotional close to the “Homeland in Our Hearts” concert.
