VOV.VN - Striker Nguyen Xuan Son (Rafaelson) reappeared on Thep Xanh Nam Dinh FC's training ground on September 2 after a long period of injury treatment in Brazil.
According to the images shared on Nam Dinh FC's homepage, Xuan Son smoothly completed basic exercises, including obstacle drills and ball control with both feet. His training was lighter than the rest of the team to ensure a safe recovery.
The striker’s return marks an important step toward regaining his physical condition ahead of high-intensity competition. This is a positive signal not only for Nam Dinh FC but also for Vietnamese football fans.
The 28-year-old striker sustained a serious injury during the 2024 ASEAN Cup final between Vietnam and Thailand. He returned to Brazil for treatment after the 2024/25 season ended.
The football star won’t be able to play for any match of Nam Dinh FC in the first leg period of V.League 2025/26 season.
Coach Vu Hong Viet even admitted that he did not know the exact time when Xuan Son could return to play for the club.
However, Xuan Son’s presence in training signals promising progress and raises hopes of his imminent return to the national squad, where he is expected to be a key striker. Son himself expressed optimism, saying he feels good and is committed to regaining peak fitness soon.
