At 6 a.m., soldiers from the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum High Command get the event underway at the historic Ba Dinh Square in the capital.
The military victory flag leads the formation, followed by 34 officers representing the first 34 soldiers of the Vietnam Propaganda Unit of Liberation Army, now the Vietnam People's Army.
