The Quang Ninh Tourism Association underscored its commitment to delivering a complete and safe experience for visitors, affirming that Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh as a whole remain safe destinations.

The Tourism Association of the northern province of Quang Ninh has issued an open letter to domestic and international travel businesses, affirming its commitment to safety measures to ensure the highest level of safety for all tourism activities, particularly sea and island tours, while bringing the best experiences to visitors.

It acknowledged that the tourist boat capsizing on Ha Long Bay on July 19 was an exceptionally serious accident caused by extreme and abnormal weather conditions, resulting in severe human losses and grief for the victims’ families, the community, and the tourism sector.

In the incident’s aftermath, the association demonstrated the highest level of responsibility by working alongside provincial authorities to urgently deploy rescue and relief operations while providing timely support for the affected families.

The association underscored its commitment to delivering a complete and safe experience for visitors. Over the recent past, it has focused on upgrading its tourist boat fleet, with all of the vessels operating on Ha Long Bay exceeding national safety standards. The recent incident gave the association an occasion to conduct objective, thorough, and comprehensive assessments of the operational procedures and emergency response skills, enhance vehicle inspections, and improve service quality.

The organisation stays dedicated to building the Ha Long – Quang Ninh tourism brand while preserving and promoting Vietnam's image as a safe, friendly, and attractive destination among international visitors. Tourism staff still maintain their passion for the profession, providing visitors with the safest journeys to explore Ha Long Bay.

Ha Long Bay and Quang Ninh as a whole remain safe destinations, and Ha Long's cruise ships and tourist boats deserve continued trust and support from travellers, the association stated.
