Quang Ninh steps up tourism promotion in the RoK

VOV.VN - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ninh province in collaboration with APC Corporation and the Global Tourism Development Organization (GTDO) held the “Shape of Quang Ninh” tourism promotion programme in Seoul, the Republic of Korea (RoK), on July 25.

Centred around the theme “One Destination – Two World Heritages,” the programme spotlighted Quang Ninh as a unique destination home to UNESCO-recognised World Heritage Sites, namely Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago and the Complex of Yen Tu – Vinh Nghiem – Con Son – Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscapes.

These globally significant heritage values form a distinctive identity for local tourism, offering travelers not only majestic natural landscapes but also rich spiritual and cultural experiences.

During the event, Quang Ninh introduced a variety of new and diverse tourism products, including a live performance featuring local cuisine held inside Ngoc Rong Cave, a newly opened terrestrial cave attraction welcoming visitors since June 2025.

Ninh Van Thuong, deputy director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that Quang Ninh is not just a place of scenic beauty, but a journey of experience, a destination where nature, culture, and heartfelt Vietnamese hospitality converge. Meanwhile, the RoK has been identified as a key international tourism market of Quang Ninh. The locality welcomed 184,818 Korean visitors in 2024 and 88,795 in the first six months of 2025, ranking second in international arrivals.

Quang Ninh has high hopes of expanding cooperation with Korean partners, airlines, and tourism businesses and is fully committed to welcoming Korean tourists with quality tourism products, professional services, and a safe and friendly environment, he noted.

A vibrant B2B networking session was held as part of the programme, with the participation of more than 200 Korean travel agencies and tour operators, alongside leading tourism and hospitality businesses from Quang Ninh.

Kim Jong Hoon, team manager of Mode Tour, shared that Quang Ninh promoted high-quality tourism products which are suitable for the tourism trend as they combine cultural and natural experiences for Korean visitors.

This event is a fantastic platform for service providers to network, exchange ideas, and strengthen Quang Ninh’s appeal as a must-visit destination in Vietnam, he said. 

“Shape of Quang Ninh” represents a key activity in the international tourism promotion campaign of Quang Ninh this year with the goal of expanding bilateral cooperation and enhancing the presence of Vietnamese tourism in one of the key markets in Asia.
