VOV.VN - Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra of Thailand paid an official visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the fourth Vietnam - Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting in Hanoi on May 15 - 16 at the invitation of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

Receiving the Thai PM on May 15 afternoon, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man affirms that the Vietnamese National Assembly will continue to improve the legal framework to facilitate businesses and investors from both countries, and support cooperation initiatives.
On the evening of May 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra attend an exhibition showcasing unique Vietnamese handicrafts, followed by a traditional tea tasting.
The Thai PM lays a wreath and pays tribute at the Mausoleum dedicated to President Ho Chi Minh and the Monument to Fallen Heroes on May 16 morning.
Also on May 16 morning, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosts an official welcoming ceremony for Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra, and they both then co-chair the fourth Vietnam - Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting.
At the meeting, both sides agree to upgrade bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership based on three main pillars - partnership for sustainable peace, partnership for sustainable development, and partnership for a sustainable future. (Photo: VNA)
Both PMs then witness the signing and exchange of cooperation documents between ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries in areas such as economy and trade, finance, drug prevention, education and training, and local cooperation. (Photo: VNA)
Receiving the Thai PM, Party General Secretary To Lam emphasised several key areas for future Vietnam - Thailand cooperation, including maintaining the effectiveness of the Joint Cabinet Meeting mechanism, promoting the Three Connectivity Partnership strategy, and strengthening coordination at multilateral forums. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Paetongtarn affirms that Thailand will actively work with Vietnam to concretise the new partnership framework.
President Luong Cuong also receives the Thai Prime Minister in Hanoi where both leaders agree that Vietnam and Thailand should boost cooperation in various fields and effectively implement the new partnership framework.
Co-chairing the Vietnam - Thailand Business Forum, the two PMs stress that the two countries will focus on connecting supply chains and promoting cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism.
