VOV.VN - More than 7,000 runners have registered for the VTV LPBank International Marathon, set to take place from August 15 to 16 at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort in northern Phu Tho province.
According to the organising board, the participants include over 20 foreign athletes from eight countries, including Finland, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, Kenya, and Morocco.
Runners will compete in three distances: 6.8km, 10km, and 21km.
Under the theme “Rhythm through Time”, the event is co-organised by Vietnam Television (VTV), the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee, Thanh An Media Joint Stock Company, and LPBank.
On August 15, organisers will distribute BIBs to participants and host an exhibition showcasing images of Phu Tho province, VTV, event sponsors, and local specialties.
The opening ceremony on August 16 will feature a special music and food festival, followed by the awarding of prizes to the top athletes.
The organising board confirmed that preparations are complete, including the racecourse layout at Flamingo Dai Lai, the infrastructure for the opening ceremony, race routes, and vehicle parking areas.
The VTV LPBank International Marathon will be broadcast live on VTV2.
