VOV.VN - As one of the most famous tourist sites in Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Hue walking street has been given a flowery facelift to celebrate the coming Year of the Snake 2025 ahead of its official opening on January 27 evening.
The gateway features the two snakes, namely Kim Ty (male) and Ngan Ty (female), a zodiac sign of the lunar New Year 2025.
The female snake spans 25 metres, while the male extends for 42 metres. The two giant snakes, gracefully intertwined, form a unique heart shape, delighting passers-by with their captivating and creative design.
Nguyen Hue walking street is almost ready for the festive celebrations after around one month of hard work.
This marks the 22nd flower street in celebration of the traditional Lunar New Year in the city.
According to Vietnamese customs, each year corresponds to an animal, also known as a zodiac, and the lunar New Year 2025 carries the zodiac sign of the snake.
A large number of potted flowers are transported to the site to decorate the venue.
The 720 metre-long flower street will be decorated with plenty of flowers following different sub-themes.
As of January 21, the construction and decoration process is almost complete.
Different kinds of flowers, including chrysanthemums, roses, and orchids have been arranged along the street.
The annual flower show, which showcases the festive culture of Tet, has become hugely popular and attracts more than a million visitors each year.
This year the flower street is scheduled to open to the public from 7 p.m. on January 27, one day before the Lunar New Year’s Eve, and is due to close on February 2, the fifth day of the first lunar month.
