VOV.VN - The Ministry of National Defence is displaying a wide range of modern weapons and equipment, from missiles, tanks, to torpedoes, at an exhibition in Hanoi marking Vietnam’s 80th National Day.
Visitors to the largest-ever exhibition excitedly take photos with the backdrop of training torpedoes and missiles on display. The outdoor exhibition area carries the theme “The Sword and the Shield.”
The SET-40UE, an anti-submarine torpedo and a variant of the SET-40 model, is designed for deployment on surface vessels and small submarines. Its training version is used in military exercises, launched by either submarines or surface ships.
The VLV-01 launcher vehicle, researched and manufactured by the Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), is capable of operating different types of missiles, carrying up to eight, with a deployment time of less than 10 minutes.
This is the R-17E (Scud-B) surface-to-surface missile, with a range of 50 to 300 kilometers.
The 5P73-VT missile launcher, researched and upgraded by the Military Industry and Telecoms Group, is designed to secure missiles on the launch arm, align them with the target, supply power and preparation signals, and automatically carry out launch commands transmitted from the UNK-VT vehicle.

The XCB-01 infantry fighting vehicle, developed by engineers and scientists of the General Department of Defence Industry, is a modern combat system that incorporates technologies from more than 30 military engineering disciplines. It is designed as a highly mobile platform for infantry operations, capable of engaging and eliminating critical enemy targets.
