Judo fighters to vie for medals at Asian Championships 2025

VOV.VN - The national judo team will send 18 players to the 2025 Asian Judo Championships which is due to run from April 25 to 27 in Bangkok, Thailand.

They will compete in seven weight categories ranging from 48kg to over 100kg for both men and women against nearly 300 fighters from 30 countries and territories worldwide.

Hoang Thi Tinh, the Southeast Asian and SEA Games reigning champion, and Nguyen Nhac Nhu An will compete against 21 foreign athletes in the women’s 48kg category.

Meanwhile, the women’s 57kg category will see the presence of Nguyen Ngoc Diem Phuong, who won bronze at the SEA Games in Cambodia in 2023 in the women's 57kg, and Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy.

Chu Duc Dat, who was also SEA Games champion in the men's 60kg class in 2023, will also vie for medals in the performance.

The Asian tournament is a good chance for Vietnamese judo fighters to sharpen their skills and to prepare for the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 33) in Thailand later this year.
