VOV.VN - A 300-metre-long wall located close to Saigon Zoo and Botanical Garden in Ho Chi Minh City has been transformed into a series of large murals by a group of artists, created to commemorate upcoming major national holidays.
In recent days, the vibrant and eye-catching murals on Nguyen Huu Canh Street in Ho Chi Minh City have attracted significant attention from passers-by.
Le Tuan Minh Vien, the head of the group of artists, shares that the massive murals stretch 300 metres in length and cover a total area of nearly 2,000 square metres.
The painting evokes memories of wartime, depicting scenes with tanks, planes, and Biên Hoa Airport, among others. Peaceful life is also portrayed through vibrant images of national flags, joyful crowds, and fireworks at Bach Dang wharf.
In particular, the group of artists vividly recreates the grand parade celebrating National Reunification Day, recently held in Ho Chi Minh City.
The giant mural painting depicts 36 units of military and police forces at the historic event celebrating the 50th anniversary of national reunification.
The mural project, launched under the theme “Việt Nam tươi đẹp” (Beautiful Vietnam), is set to be completed in the coming days to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19), National Day (September 2), and the People's Public Security Forces (August 19).
About 20 artists start work in mid-June and are expected to finish their work before August 15.
At the end of the painting, an image of veterans and armed forces walking among civilians symbolises the enduring values of peace and unity.
The street has attracted numerous locals and tourists who come to admire and enjoy the new artwork.
The mural painting aims to remind young people of the historical values of the nation.
