HCM City boosts tourism development with luxury river cruises

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City is set to launch additional luxury cruise tours on the Saigon River this November, blending cuisine and entertainment to attract more international visitors by year-end.
The initiative is designed to diversify tourism offerings, enhance visitor experiences, and boost tourist spending.
Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, said that the city will soon introduce new cruise products for exploring the Saigon River. These offerings are expected to generate additional revenue and strengthen the city’s tourism appeal.
The association recently signed a cooperation agreement with the 5-star Elite of Saigon, the most luxurious dining cruise on the Saigon River, Khanh said, noting that boosting ties between travel operators and service providers is a practical approach, enabling faster product rollout and delivering direct benefits to tourists.
She added that the association will promote cooperative programs that can be implemented immediately following the agreement.
"River tourism remains a key focus, offering a wide range of experiences from affordable to high-end. Through this cooperation, travel businesses will expand their offerings with cruise and river tour optionsm, thereby providing more choices for visitors to Ho Chi Minh City," Khanh emphasized.
Ngo Kim Hoang, Sales Director of Elite of Saigon Cruise, said the cruise offers a unique journey, guiding tourists past Ho Chi Minh City's iconic landmarks, from historic sites to modern architectural highlights. The new fleet, designed in a modern cruise ship style and accommodating up to 450 passengers, is expected to bring fresh energy to the city's river tourism sector.
“This product targets mid- to high-end travelers, particularly during the peak season when international visitors from Singapore, China, and European and American markets arrive,” Hoang added.
