A trader shares that during the Tet holiday this year, every day she buys more than 100,000 Dong leaves in order to sell to her customers.
In order to choose the right Dong leaves, many customers spend between 20 and 30 minutes carefully selecting the ones they want.
People in the capital head to the market to buy big, beautiful, and green Dong leaves to pack their Chung cakes to enjoy a traditional New Year.
Dong leaves are chosen for both their catchy colour and odor. Wrapping Chung cake with these leaves provides an eye-catching green colour to the delicacy.
