The flag raising ceremony aims to celebrate 29 years of the nation’s ASEAN membership and the 57th anniversary of ASEAN’s founding anniversary.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet emphasises the significance of the event, presenting the bloc’s growing strength in politics, culture, and economics.
Held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA)’ headquarters in downtown Hanoi, the ceremony is attended by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet, high-ranking Vietnamese officials, along with representatives of ASEAN member states and the regional bloc’s partner countries.
From early in the morning, the honour guard is present at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as preparations are made for the ASEAN flag raising ceremony.
The ASEAN flag serves as a symbol of the association's solidarity, friendship, and co-operation, along with the aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity of all member countries under the common roof of the ASEAN Community.
The ASEAN flag-raising ceremony is held to honour the common values and commitments of the bloc to their people.
Over the past few years, the region’s community members have spared no efforts to meet the strategic goals outlined in the statement on the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 with the aim of ensuring peace, security, and long-term self-reliance with a dynamic and competitive economy boasting comprehensive connectivity.
Those in attendance at the ceremony, including ambassadors and representatives of ASEAN embassies and ASEAN partners in Hanoi, come together to pose for a group photo.
