VOV.VN - As the lunar New Year holiday (Tet) comes, border guards in the northern region join hands with ethnic communities to prepare for Tet, helping local people enjoy a happy Tet and strengthen the deep bond between the military and the people.
The border district of Muong Te in Lai Chau province welcomes an early spring with the national flag vividly displayed across villages.
Sin Chai B, a highland border village about 19 km from the center of Pa Ve Su Commune, Muong Te District, is home to 56 households with more than 260 residents, primarily of the La Hu ethnic group.
To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Snake, border guards and local authorities organize a spring programme to help local ethnic people enjoy a happy holiday.
The programme aims to share the community’s hardships, bring a warm winter, and offer a spring filled with love to students and residents, while ensuring social welfare during the Lunar New Year.
The programme includes performances staged by local residents of Sin Chai B, creating a lively and warm atmosphere..

Leaders from the Lai Chau Provincial Party Committee, Border Guard Command, and local authorities joined La Hu residents in making bánh chưng (a traditional rice cake for the Tet holiday).
During the festival, apart from essential goods, each family in Sin Chai B village is given a national flag and a portrait of President Ho Chi Minh to display during the Lunar New Year.
Border guards also provide free medical check-ups and medication to the people, to ensure their well-being during the festive season.
Every family receives meaningful gifts from border guards to ensure they can enjoy a bountiful Tet.
