VOV.VN - Head coach of the Vietnam national football team Kim Sang-sik has presented a sum of VND100 million to Tam Long Viet Fund in support of people in areas affected by typhoon Yagi.
“Typhoon Yagi, the most powerful typhoon in 30 years, has caused heavy damage to the Vietnamese people,” Kim Sang-sik's representative company wrote on his official Facebook page on September 29.
“With his warm heart, head coach of the Vietnamese national team Kim Sang-sik has donated VND100 million to Tam Long Viet Fund, with his desire to help people in flood-hit areas,” it noted.
In addition to Kim Sang-sik, former Vietnam national football coach Park Hang-seo also donated a sum of VND200 million to the Central Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front in support of the victims.
Many players in the V.League 1 have also joined hands as part of typhoon relief efforts, including defenders Que Ngoc Hai and Duy Manh, striker Hoang Dinh Tung, midfielders Nguyen Hoang Duc and Nguyen Quang Hai, along with goalkeepers Bui Tan Truong and Dang Van Lam.
The Vietnam national team and Vietnam Football Federation have also donated a total of VND400 million.
