It marked the beginning of a series of cultural and tourism activities planned for 2025 to boost the city’s appeal as a top destination.

A recent report from the Department of Tourism highlighted impressive achievements in 2024. Ho Chi Minh City welcomed 6 million international visitors in 2024, an increase of 20% compared to the previous year, reaching 100% of its yearly plan. Of the figure, the number of domestic tourists is estimated to reach 38 million, up 8.6% as compared to 2023. The city bagged a tourism revenue of over VND190 trillion (US$7.46 billion), a year-on-year increase of 18.8%.

Building on this success, the city aims to achieve even greater milestones in 2025, with a target of welcoming 8.5 million international and 45 million domestic visitors and generating an estimated VND260 trillion in tourism revenue.
