The opening night of the function saw impressive music performances put on by many popular local singers, including My Tam, Duc Phuc, Only C, and Hoang Dung.

Furthermore, a special art programme and an Ao Dai (Vietnamese traditional dress) fashion show were also held as part of the night.

The Summer Festival - Wow Da Nang is scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 1 and will feature a total of 11 cultural and sporting activities.

Within the programme’s framework, a Vietnamese and international cuisine festival will be held from July 28 to August 1 and will showcase more than 50 booths offering 100 special dishes from numerous different regions and countries around the world.

Most notably, 100 teams from professional paragliding clubs will participate in a paragliding tournament "Flying over Tien Sa" at Son Tra peninsula, thereby demonstrating their skillful technique whilst being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery of Da Nang from above.

Moreover, there will also be a kite art performance which takes place along the coastline from Tho Quang beach to Non Nuoc beach.

Tan Van Vuong, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, emphasised that this year's event is expected to further attract tourists to the central city and elevate Da Nang’s brand as a destination of festivals, as well as being among Asia's leading tourist destinations.
