VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a welcoming ceremony in Hanoi on March 6 for Kyrgyzstan’s Prime Minister Adylbek Kasimalyev who arrived there the previous day for an official visit to Vietnam.

Children of Hanoi stand in two rows, waving flags to welcome the Kyrgyz Prime Minister’s motorcade as it enters the ceremonial area.
This is also the first visit of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan to Vietnam since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. In the photo, the two PMs stand in the podium of honour to render the flag salute.
The trip is expected to promote and deepen the Vietnam-Kyrgyzstan friendship and cooperation, making it more substantive and effective across all areas. In the photo, the two PMs render the flag salute.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh invites his Kyrgyz counterpart Adylbek Kasimalyev to review the guard of honour.
Shortly after the welcoming ceremony, the two PMs walk to the Government’s Headquarters for high-level talks.
Ahead of the talks, the two PMs tour a photo exhibition of Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan.
Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan established diplomatic relations on June 4, 1992. However, their friendly ties date back much earlier, when Kyrgyzstan was still part of the Soviet Union.
Over the past 33 years, the two countries have seen many new opportunities for cooperation in trade, economy, and investment.
During the talks, the two PMs discuss measures to strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Kyrgyzstan.
Economic and trade cooperation between the two countries is currently at a moderate level, with two-way trade standing at US$13.5 million in 2024.
Notably, Kyrgyzstan is one of the few countries in the world that unilaterally grants visa exemptions to Vietnamese citizens for a period of 60 days.
