Welcome ceremony for PM Pham Minh Chinh in Romania

VOV.VN - Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu hosted an official welcome ceremony on the morning of January 22 in Bucharest for Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh who is on a three-day visit to the country.
A high-ranking Vietnamese delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh arrived in Bucharest on January 20 afternoon (local time), beginning an official visit to Romania at the invitation of Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
During the January 20-22 visit, the Vietnamese Prime Minister holds talks with Prime Minister Ciolacu, meets with President Klaus-Werner Iohannis and other senior officials of Romania. He also attends a joint Vietnam - Romania business forum and visit research institutes and universities, among other activities.
Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu invites Vietnamese counterpart to step on the podium while military bands play the national anthems of both nations.
The welcome ceremony is also attended by high-ranking officials.
Vietnam and Romania established diplomatic ties on February 3, 1950. From 1950 to 1989, Romania provided aid and loans to Vietnam to develop a number of economic sectors. After Romania changed its political regime in December 1989, the two countries continued to maintain the traditional friendship and multi-faceted cooperation.
Since 1990, Vietnam and Romania have signed many documents, creating a legal framework for cooperation in the new period.
Two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Romania has grown continuously over the years, from more than US$200 million in 2018 to more than US$400 million in 2022.
