VOV.VN - Vietnamese volleyball star Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is set to join Kuzeyboru club which competes in the top division of Turkish volleyball league for the upcoming 2024 to 2025 season.
The local athlete will fly to Turkey on August 1 and will have the opportunity to regularly take on some of the world's leading stars such as Tijana Bošković and Melissa Vargas.
Thuy's new club are also competing for a top five in order to compete in European tournaments next season.
This will mark the first time that a Vietnamese female volleyballer has had the chance to take part in one of the leading women’s volleyball tournaments in the world.
Thuy is Vietnam's number one female player and the captain of the women’s national volleyball team. With a height of 1.93 metres, she’s the most lethal outside hitter on the national team.
The Long An native previously played for BlueCats club of Japan during the 2021 to 2022 season.
