Vietnamese flag flies at ASIAD 19 in Hangzhou, China

VOV.VN - The national flag of Vietnam was hoisted alongside those of other competing countries during the flag-raising ceremony of the 19th Asian Games (ASIAD 19) held in Hangzhou, China, on September 22.
The flag raising event marks the official presentation of all sports teams at the largest sporting competition in the continent.
Vietnamese fencer Vu Thanh An, who won five SEA Games gold medals, feels excited about taking part in the event.
The Vietnamese national anthem is played during the flag-raising ceremony.
This year sees the Vietnamese delegation made up of a total of 504 members, including 337 athletes who compete in 31 sports.
Vietnamese athletes aim to take home between 2-5 gold medals, pinning hopes on 4x400m athletics, swimming and rowing. Other potential sports where local athletes may enjoy success include boxing, sepak takraw, shooting, archery, and karate.
The athletes will try their best to earn direct spots and points for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
At the ceremony, the Organising Committee presents souvenirs to the sporting delegations of participating countries.
The official opening ceremony of ASIAD 19 will be held on the night of September 23 and the closing ceremony is scheduled for October 8.
