VOV.VN - The Vietnam Exposition Center, poised to become the largest exhibition venue in Southeast Asia and one of the world’s top 10 complexes, opened on August 19 in Hanoi to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day.
The inauguration of the Vietnam Exhibition Center coincides with a series of major projects celebrating the 80th National Day of Vietnam (September 2).
Located in Dong Anh commune, the center spans more than 900,000 square metres and is expected to become the largest in Southeast Asia, as well as being one of the 10 biggest exhibition complexes worldwide.
Its centerpiece is the Kim Quy exhibition hall covering a space spanning 130,000 square metres. It is designed to host many large-scale and modern international exhibitions.
The complex features four outdoor exhibition plazas, the VinPalace Conference Center which boasts a capacity of 30,000 guests, a five-star hotel system with over 5,000 rooms, and parking lot to accommodate 30,000 cars.

A model featuring a Lạc bird, a mythical creature from Vietnamese culture, is set outside the Vietnam Exposition Center.
Construction has been completed after nearly 10 months.
The circular exhibition hall spans an area of 104,000 square meters. It draws inspiration by the legend of the Golden Turtle God (Kim Quy), a mythical golden turtle god appearing in several Vietnamese legends.
The Nỏ Thần (Crossbow) Park in front of the Kim Quy exhibition hall reminds people of the heroic history of the nation.
